Unanimous in the Affirmative

I didn't know this is what my first blog (ok, second) would be about, and this is by no means a "religious" themed site, however my spiritual beliefs are an important part of who I am and this just happens to be what I have been "mulling" about for awhile, so here goes..(too much with the quotation marks? maybe?) (did I mention my thought process is very scattered?) ANYWAY...
The church to which I belong has a world wide conference every 6 months, in april and october and one of the unique things about it's organization is that at each of these conferences, members are given the opportunity to vote to sustain the General Authorities and Leaders of the church, all extremely gifted and accomplished men and women who give willingly of their time to serve in a worldwide arena. Sitting at home on saturday as I watched the conference on TV (a new thing for me, since other places I have lived do not broadcast this conference locally, I guess that's a point for Utah**) , as the names were read I raised my hand to vote and sustain, even though I was alone. At the end of the process Pres. Hinckley, who was conducting this business, said, "It appears that the voting has been Unanimous in the Affirmative." I've heard that phrase countless times in my life, but this time it really stuck with me. And not really for the occasion to which it was attached. I've been thinking since then, how much different and better my life would be if it was more Unanimous in the Affirmative (hereafter referred to as UA). How would this country be different if it's leaders and citizens were more UA? How would my physical, social, mental, spiritual, emotional life be if in my choices I was (or is it I were?) more UA? I guess what I'm thinking about could be called integrity, I've wrestled most of my life with being more integrated with myself. But on another level, I think it just means (to me) to be more "Positively Together", more "Genuinely Supportive", more "Certainly Assured", more "Absolutely Sustaining". I know I'd be a better person. And I think it would make my life, and the lives of those around me better. I'm not a person who makes new year's resolutions, but UA is something I'm going to really start working on. Yup. That's the team I want to be on. Team Unanimous in the Affirmative.
**Another blog subject to be tackled in the future: What's the score for Utah??? (or what the heck am I doing living here and do I want to stay?)

Amazing! Have you ever been paid for your writing? I feel the same way about UA. Just inside myself, if I could find the peace of comfort in knowing I always followed the promptings given me, and if I could always agree on choosing the BEST option before me, life would be so SMOOTH! Thankfully, I'll have a bit more time to work out my salvation.... The church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is TRUE! It's as pure as gold, and even more precious.
